Globalization
has brought about revolutionary change in Electronics sector. World has entered into the
third generation of Mobile Communication. This has resulted into
ever-increasing demand of Electronics as well as Telecommunication
Engineers in Indian industry and abroad.The Electronics department offers two separate degree courses viz:
'Electronics & Instrumentation' and 'Electronics & Telecommunication'.
The syllabi
of both the courses include core Electronics subjects. In '
Electronics Engineering' course, focus is given on subjects like
fuzzy logic and neural networks, Embedded Systems,
Microcontrollers etc. Where as in ' Electronics &
Telecommunication' course is focused on subjects like Mobile
Communication, Optical Communication, Radar, Telematics etc.

The department has advanced laboratories like VLSI design,
Advanced communication, Television Engineering, Embedded
Microcontrollers, UHF and Microwave to practical training to the
students on emerging areas. Some of the advanced softwares
available are Tanner tools, Altera, Microwind, MATLAB with
different toolboxes, Octave, Multisim and Orcad. Some of the
advanced facilities available are Digital Storage Osciloscope,
Spectrum Analyzer, PCB fabrication unit, TV Trainer ,Optical
Trainer, DSP Processor kits, FPGA, CPLD kits, Microcontroller,
Logic Analyzer, Handheld DSO and programmable multimeter.
